Oracle has been the title partner of Red Bull Racing since 2022 and its wordmark has run on the sidepod since the RB16B. Nine in ten of the motorsport audience recognise the logo. Two thirds can say which team it belongs to.

The reading comes from the BoxBoxd Brand Recall Index, a test the motorsport audience takes on the platform through the 2026 season. A sponsor logo appears blurred with no name attached and the audience answers three questions in order: name the brand, name the team it belongs to, then say where the branding appears on the car.

Oracle was tested 948 times. 90.5 percent named the brand, 65.6 percent attributed it to the right team and 28.1 percent said where it appears.

What does the Oracle partnership cover?

Oracle became a Red Bull Racing partner in 2021 and title sponsor from 2022, giving the team the full name Oracle Red Bull Racing. The red wordmark appears on the sidepod, the highest value surface on the car and the one broadcast cameras hold longest through a corner.

The recognition score is the weakest part of a strong table position. At 90.5 percent Oracle ranks eighth of the eleven brands tested, below KitKat, Honda and Marlboro.

For an enterprise software company whose customers are companies rather than consumers, being named by nine in ten motorsport fans is a result the category rarely produces.

Attribution is where the title partnership is tested. 65.6 percent named Red Bull Racing correctly, which is 16.2 points below the grid average of 81.8 percent and more than thirty points behind Marlboro, a name that left the cars in 2008.

Why a title deal can still lose the second question

Placement is the sharpest reading. Only 28.1 percent of the audience said where the Oracle branding appears, against a grid average of 42.7 percent and against 52 percent for Honda. The wordmark occupies one of the largest surfaces on the grid and it is read by fewer than three in ten.

A title partnership buys the team name, the press release headline and the sidepod. What the data shows is that none of the three transfers automatically into the audience memory.

The brand is recognised on its own merits, which the software business built long before it entered the sport and the association is carried by fewer people than the exposure numbers suggest.

Does the answer change with allegiance?

Sorted by the team each respondent supports, Oracle attribution runs from 69.1 percent among McLaren fans to 59.7 percent among Williams fans, a spread of 9.4 points. The Red Bull Racing audience itself does not lead the table, which is the finding a title partner would least expect.

What the reading tells a sponsorship team

Oracle is the clearest case in the 2026 set of a brand whose recognition comes from outside the sport and whose association inside it is still being built.

The gap between the two questions is 24.9 points. For a title partnership entering its fifth season, that gap is the number to work on rather than the recognition score, which the brand already owned.

The way to close it is placement. The brands that attribute well in this data are the ones whose branding stayed on the same surface, in the same colour, long enough for the audience to read it rather than see it.
